What is Manuel Valls Religion? Spanish politician Manuel Carlos Valls Galfetti, a dual citizen of France and Spain, represented Barcelona on the municipal council from 2019 to 2021. 

From 2014 to 2016, he presided as France’s prime minister under President François Hollande. He ran for president in the 2017 Socialist Party primary, but Benoît Hamon defeated him in the second round and won the nomination.

In 2022, Valls made an effort to reenter the National Assembly as an LREM member representing the Fifth constituency of French expatriates. Nevertheless, he failed since he received the least number of votes.

Valls’ father was the painter Xavier Valls, who was born in Barcelona. Luisangela Galfetti, a Swiss citizen born in Ticino and the sister of architect Aurelio Galfetti, was Xavier Valls’ future wife when he relocated to Paris in the late 1940s.

He won the best still life award in the third Spanish-American Art Biennial organized by Franco in 1955. 

While his parents were on vacation, Valls was born in Barcelona. He grew up with them in their French house and acquired French citizenship. Before divorcing, Valls had four children with Nathalie Soulié, whom he married in 1987. 

He wed Anne Gravoin, a violinist and recipient of the coveted Premier Prix for Violin and Chamber Orchestra from the Conservatoire de Paris, on July 1, 2010. 

He first met Susana Gallardo in Menorca. The two have been dating since August 2018 and plan to wed on September 14, 2019.
